Educational – Motivating – Entertaining!

RiverJack Z is perhaps best known as guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for the renowned Zucchini Brothers, recipients of several esteemed awards and critical acclaim for their children’s albums and music videos. The Zucchini Brothers were well known for their concerts in schools, theaters, and festivals throughout the country, as well as their internationally syndicated weekly radio show, The Zucchini Brothers, Live! at the Clubhouse. Jack and Steve Zucchini still play concerts for kids of all ages!!!!

A while ago now, Jack took up residence “down by the river” with the lush farmlands and the magical forests of Upstate New York as a backdrop. He adopted the name “RiverJack Z” and developed Hudson “Rivergrass,” a fresh sound that synthesizes diverse musical styles, a variety of instruments, and lots of fresh air and sunshine for added inspiration.

Jack received both New York State teacher certification and a B.S. degree in elementary education from Plattsburgh State University. He’s been putting his background in education – and his love of music – to good use by creating unique songwriting programs for groups of students in grades K-8. And of course, he loves playing shows for audiences of all ages with his brother Steve.

Jack’s programs provide an uplifting experience that leaves everyone – young and old – with a smile through both his music and spirit…

“As Cultural Arts Chairperson for Caroline Street Elementary School, I have NEVER gotten such great feedback and vibes from the children, teachers and parents about any other program I’ve brought in. Jack is unbelievably great with the children and, with their input, is gifted in bringing ideas to a wonderful fruition.”

— Karen Ricci, Caroline Street Elementary—

“Working with Jack was fantastic. He had an instant and natural connection with my students and taught them much more than they composed together. He included advice about what being a working musician is like and how to be an individual no matter what your talents are. The final product was tailored to the style of our school community, and Jack’s amazing musicianship created an authenticity that keeps the music alive. The collaboration throughout the process was a life lesson the students will not forget.”
